Our Mission
Our mission is to prevent risky behavior and reduce the transmission of HIV in Mauritius and other diseases such as hepatitis C and syphilis through harm reduction actions and strategies. We also provide psycho-social support and medical and legal accompaniment to people who use drugs and their families.

2005
2005 - AILES (Aides Infos Liberté Espoir et Solidarité)
AILES (Aides Infos Liberté Espoir et Solidarité) is an NGO launched under the initiative of Brigitte Michel, Cedrick Veerasamy, Maryline Natchegan, Sandrine Domingue, Marie Lourdes Manoovaloo, Christophe Moura, following a training provided by Natresa in 2005.

2007
2007 - Peak Rise
From 2007 to 2009, many young drug users in Mangalkhan were dying of overdoses or hepatitis C and HIV related infections. Desperate parents were looking for support, counseling and guidance.

2008
2008 - Focus Group
In 2008, focus groups were organised in order to give a platform to drug users and their relatives in the region. Several drug users expressed the wish to stop using drugs but explained that they did not receive support from their families or from the authorities concerned.

2009
2009 - Official Launch & Finance
AILES was launched in November 2009 and obtained its first funding from the MCBFF in 2010, for a project of support and monitoring of people who use drugs.
The founding members are mainly people from the Mangalkhan community who are concerned by the problem of drugs and HIV.
